*Kyoto Writers Residency is a small organization run by a small group of volunteers. To keep the residency manageable, we will call for applications from ASEAN countries and Japanese-language writers only for the 2026 residency. We are planning to reopen the application worldwide in 2027.
For KOREAN WRITERS: please apply through ARKO. The 2026 applications have already closed.
For BELGIAN WRITERS in FRENCH LANGUAGE: please apply through WBI. They will accept 2026 applications.
